The Annual "East Coast Tour". . . 1st Leg of the Trip, Wednesday 11/15/17 up to Thanksgiving at Liz's

So I left Alameda on afternoon of Wednesday, November 15, heading for son Michael's place in South Carolina.

What follows is a "photo-story" about that leg of my once-per-year trip East. . .

Arrived Columbia SC airport at 9:30am Thursday, November 16th. . .

Mikey's home. But he wasn't home. . .  He was at work when I got there.

So I walked around and took a few pictures. . . .

That Friday was Movie Night at Michael's school. . . .  ELF

The gym near Michael's place:

Saturday, we went downtown to the weekly Farmers Market on Main Street. I noticed the banners celebrating the University of South Carolina's Girl's basketball team being the winners of the National Championship. . . .

This guy played one HECK of a wailing sax!

Chain-link?!

Everything was being sold at the Farmers Market. . . .

Mikey. . .

A well-decorated sewing machine. . .

NO thank you. . . .

State Capitol dome is just a block away from the last of the Farmers Market tents. . .

Wait a minute! Tho we are in the East, I don't see any BAY here. But I _know_ where there's an East Bay. . .

This was for sale at Farmers Market. Similarity with today's politics is _uncanny_. (Blow it up and read it.)

Resting my weary bones at Farmers Market on Main Street in Columbia, SC:

Nice ride!

Mikey's front license plate. . . .  His RAFT is on it. . .

Dinner with Piper, Meredith, Michael, and Gabbi on evening of Monday, November 20th, at California Dreaming restaurant in Columbia, SC. . .

Then, on Tuesday evening, we left for New York. Stopped over on Tuesday night in Rocky Mount, North Carolina and continued on our way to my sis-in-law's in New Jersey on Wednesday morning. On Wednesday - the day before Thanksgiving - "From Atlantic to Pacific, oh, the traffic was terrific."

Ya cain't get they'ah from he-yah. . . .

26 minutes turned out to be 49 minutes instead. . . .

Running very late, it seemed as if Washington was "giving us the finger."

George was bigger than Thomas. . .

We drove late into the night. . . I think that this was at toll booths just before the Baltimore Mid-Harbor Tunnel. . .

Our 1st morning in NJ, Thanksgiving, we had breakfast at the Saddle Brook Diner. The "drive-in mural" with the Jumbo screen TV in it impressed me. . .

Got to Liz's later that morning. . .

She's had this toy for YEARS, and has NEVER opened it. . .

Charleigh is ready for dessert!

VERY ready for dessert!

Family of the year!

To be continued. . . .
