They're with the Government and are Here to Help You. . . .

J&J and I went downtown this afternoon to the Big Truck Bonanza. . . .  A fun time in the Alameda Police Department's parking lot across the street from the public library. The boys got to climb all over all kinds of trucks and government vehicles. . . .

Wow! LOOK at all this stuff! Where will we START?

Red is their favorite color:

Ring-a-ding-ding. . .

Teddy digs it. . . .

Ponch and John trying out a new Alameda P.D. set of wheels. . . .

Going cherry-picking:

Calling all cars, calling all cars. . . .  be on the lookout for a pair of desperadoes who just stole one of our Alameda P.D. patrol cars.  Suspects go by names of Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid.

Let's see. . . .  Wayne Brady says we have to pick what's behind one of these three doors and not get Zonked.  Momma can explain how Let's Make A Deal works. . . .

Charlie got a thrill out of walking on the bumper.

Getting into the "pothole paver" truck. . . .

A Jeep made out of LEGOs?
 Yep!

And PLENTY of LEGOs to add to it!

A fun time was had by all. . . .

I want to go there. But I want to go THERE!

A little bit of burnout after so much excitement. . . .

After the fun in the P.D. parking lot, we went to Jim's Coffee Shop, next block over, for lunch. . . .  And did some serious art-work while waiting for the chicken nuggets:

Then went back towards the library, and made a stop there, too. . . .

Got back to the little bit of paradise called home on the Bay by about 3:30 or so.  Tide was out, but the sail-boarders were out in profusion:

It was a great way to spend a few hours today.
